Pampa Metals Corp. (CSE: PM) has reported a significant copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry discovery at the Buenavista target, part of the Piquenes project located in the Frontal Cordillera of San Juan Province, Argentina. The maiden diamond drill hole (BUE001) intersected 298 meters grading 0.54% copper equivalent (CuEq), including a higher-grade zone of 110 meters at 0.70% CuEq.
The mineralized interval begins at just 30 meters below surface and extends down to 328 meters, containing 0.39% Cu, 0.11 g/t Au, and 61 ppm Mo, indicating a robust copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry system. The drill hole ended at 412 meters while still in mineralization, suggesting the system remains open at depth and laterally.
Discovery Validates Porphyry Potential in the Frontal Cordillera
The geological context, along with coincident surface geochemical anomalies and geophysical signatures, support the interpretation of a large, mineralized porphyry system at Buenavista. This marks a pivotal moment for Pampa Metals as it continues to define new frontiers in the Argentine Andes.
Joseph van den Elsen, President and CEO of Pampa Metals, commented: “This initial drill hole confirms the presence of a significant porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum system at Buenavista. The scale, grade, and geological setting provide compelling evidence of a major discovery in the making.”
The Piquenes project lies within a highly prospective corridor known for hosting some of the Andes’ most prominent porphyry and epithermal deposits. Further drilling is planned to expand on these results and explore the system’s full potential.
