Unico Silver (ASX:USL) has reported strong assay results from its La Negra Southeast discovery in Argentina, reinforcing confidence in the project’s scale and grade potential as the company moves toward a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) now scheduled for November 2025.
The Australian-listed silver explorer, with a market capitalization of $364.9 million, said the updated timeline will allow inclusion of all data from its ongoing infill drilling campaign at the Joaquin Project in Argentina’s Santa Cruz province.
The first two holes from the latest phase were designed to extend mineralization along strike and at depth from an earlier discovery hole, which intersected 90 meters grading 164 grams per tonne (g/t) silver-equivalent (AgEq) from 10 meters.
Recent assays returned standout results, including:
These results extend mineralization to 425 meters of strike and 125 meters of vertical extent, remaining open to the southeast and at depth, according to the company.
“Results confirm the continuity of high-grade mineralization both down-dip and along strike,” said Managing Director Todd Williams. “With over 10,000 meters completed in phase one and 20,000 meters planned for phase two, drilling is tracking well and ahead of schedule.”
Williams added that delaying the MRE will allow Unico to “fully incorporate this new growth into the estimation,” ensuring the maiden resource captures the full scope of recent discoveries.
Unico’s phase-two drilling program will continue at La Negra, while also testing new targets at La Morocha Southeast, La Negra Feeder, and Brunilda — all of which remain untested since drilling resumed earlier this year.
The Joaquin Project currently hosts a resource estimate of 68.1 million ounces of silver-equivalent (AgEq), with La Negra emerging as one of the most promising new zones.
Unico Silver holds a 100% interest in both the Cerro Leon and Joaquin silver-gold districts, consolidating its position as one of Argentina’s leading precious metals explorers.
