The Stillwater West program aims to grow mid- to high-grade polymetallic sulfide resources through targeted drilling, supported by advanced geophysics and AI-driven modeling.

Stillwater Critical Minerals has announced the start of its 2025 drilling campaign at its flagship Stillwater West Ni-PGE-Cu-Co + Au project in Montana, USA. The Company has engaged Energold Drilling to begin mobilizing rigs to site, initiating a program focused on expanding known mineralization and testing new high-priority targets.

The 2025 campaign will target the expansion of mid- to high-grade polymetallic sulfide mineralization defined through previous drilling at Stillwater West’s most advanced areas. Drilling will also test new targets identified through the updated 3D geological model announced by the Company on March 26, 2025.

The program follows the successful completion of a 2024 property-wide MobileMT geophysical survey, which revealed multiple large-scale conductive highs and resistivity lows correlating with known mineralization and mineralized horizons. These results have significantly advanced the geological understanding of the lower Stillwater Igneous Complex, effectively doubling the 3D model’s strike length from 9.5 to over 20 kilometers.

The 2025 program is being advanced in collaboration with Glencore plc through the Stillwater West Technical Committee, alongside technical partners ALS GoldSpot, who are applying artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to refine drill targeting across the property.

“The 2024 geophysical survey has transformed our understanding of the Stillwater West project,” said Dr. Danie Grobler, Vice President of Exploration. “The identification of multiple large-scale conductors within and surrounding known mineralization gives us a strong pipeline of high-quality targets to grow our current resources. The 2025 campaign represents a major step forward in unlocking the full potential of one of America’s most significant critical mineral districts.”

Michael Rowley, President and CEO of Stillwater, added: “We are excited to launch our 2025 field season as we apply our updated geological model to help expand the critical minerals supply from a globally strategic mining district. Our aim is to translate the proven value of large-scale polymetallic sulfide mines in South Africa’s Bushveld Complex to the parallel geological setting of the Stillwater Igneous Complex in the U.S. We look forward to providing updates on our 2025 campaign, government initiatives, and non-core asset developments in the near future.”
